Journal Impact

Web of Science is a comprehensive research platform it covers journal articles, patents, websites, conference proceedings and Open Access material.  It covers the top 12000 journals worldwide. Journal Citation Reports offer a systematic method to evaluate the journals, helping you to decide where to publish your research.  The Essential Science Indicators allows you to track an individual article's performance, search for top researchers or institutions by discipline.

Journal Impact Factors and REF 2021

REF2014 guidelines say this about journal impact factors:

"No sub-panel will make any use of journal impact factors, rankings, lists or the perceived standing of publishers in assessing the quality of research outputs."

There seems to be no evidence that this will change for the 2021 REF.

You can use the Journal Citation Reports to find journals to publish in.
