How do I know whether the information I find is reliable?

When we talk about find relevant resources for your research, we are not just talking about those which have a subject relation to your topic. We are also talking about resources which are of the right level and content for academic discussion. It can sometimes be difficult to work out whether a resource is reliable or appropriate for use in an academic assignment such as the EPQ but there are some approaches you can take to assess whether you think it is useful or not.
