Lecture capture
Being able to record lectures for your students is a great service to be able to provide for them.
However please bear in mind that copyright will be relevant where lectures are being recorded. A variety of works are protected under copyright law, including: text, film, sound recordings, scripts, musical compositions, photographs, blogs, diagrams and still images.
So if any such copyright material will be included in your lecture recording this would need to be cleared with the rights owner before a recording takes place unless the fair dealing rule applies
As long as what you are including in your lecture is ‘reasonable and appropriate to the purpose’ of the lecture then limited amounts of copyright material can normally be safely used for the following purposes:
