Solent Online Learning General

You can...

  • Have items digitised for use on Solent Online Learning subject to certain conditions (see below).
  • Link to a website with information in the public domain.
  • Link to articles in the library databases (unless the licence prohibits it).
  • Use images from databases containing images for educational use.
  • Include clips of television programmes or radio programmes via BoB National or recorded under our ERA Plus licence and available on our library catalogue. For further information about digital tv and radio programmes, contact your Information Librarian.

Tip: It is always preferable to link to items rather than uploading documents

Digitisation of copyright materials for teaching purposes is permitted under the new CLA licence. Provided requests are dealt with by the library and the material is only made available to students within a particular unit, we can:

  • Scan items we have in stock.
  • Obtain copyright-cleared materials from the British Library.

There are some publisher restrictions so certain materials may not be available. For more information, see our digital document requests page.

Tip: Check that we do not already have access to electronic versions of materials via our e-resources.
