The Library offers a reading list service to academics under which we will:
- Check it has the items on your reading list in stock. If items are not held they will be ordered as print or ebooks depending on availability and best value for money.
- Generate an interactive online reading list that is available within the appropriate SOL unit. From this list, students can see and manage their reading via the list, link to ebooks, online articles, websites or find out how many print items are currently in the library and where they are located.
- Scan selected chapters so all students can access the reading - this is only done where licensing for scans has permitted this and is restricted in terms of the amount that can be scanned per book per unit.
- Link to journal articles where the journal is subscribed to and investigate options for obtaining articles not already held in consultation with you.
- Make the reading list visible once created within SOL (Solent Online Learning)
- Let you know when the list is available so you can check and request any alterations
- Reading lists can be amended at anytime
Please read through the Reading Lists LibGuide, especially the section on what you can and cannot upload to SOL
