Helping your students

Information librarians can help students with the following:

  • Identifying keywords and planning search strategies
  • Literature searching
  • Exploring relevant resources outside the subject area
  • Preparing for dissertations (literature searching not topic selection)
  • Referencing (classes, workshops or one-to-one support)
  • Referencing software

LibGuides

Subject libguides provide support that students can access themselves at point of need.  They may contain videos, online tutorials and quizzes, all designed to make students proficient library users and give them the information literacy skills necessary for their future lives.  The guides are developed and maintained by the information librarians and reflect the needs of the school they support.

Students can book one-to-one appointments by emailing library.support@solent.ac.uk
